I once heard the Havanese being described as joyful little clowns and that couldn’t be closer to the truth. They are energetic, playful and generally great with children.
They come in a multitude of colours and have to sweetest personalities. Today the breed’s main purpose is to be companion or a lap dog which was their original purpose: being companion dogs to nobility and before times became tough for Cuba. When things were tough for Cuba the Havanese adapted to their new environment by being the family pet and herding folks of chickens for the farmers.
